Hurricane break
Week 3
September 12th, 2019

Brainstorming for creativity idea. Weiming and Jose were thinking what project will be doing, and they had some ideas like, an smart shopping cart, a portable keyboard that can be fold, and a mouse that can be wear in the hand without need of a smooth surface.

Week 4
September 19th, 2019

Brainstorming for creativity idea, briefly research for valuable topic and create a website. When we were thinking what project will be doing, we had some ideas like a pancake machine that make pancake automatically, also an smart suitcase that can show its weight once is full and closed, and to follow the user instead of pushing or pulling it.

September 26th, 2019

Other research we had to do was about the weight sensors. What kind of weight sensor we will use, a tension scale or a load scale and where we will position them in the suitcase. We found that using 4 load cells and position then each in the middle of ¼ of the bottom space of the suitcase will be our best option to get the more exact total weight.
We found some web pages where sell this kind of suitcases, and start looking for similar products.

Week 7
October 10th, 2019

Research and combine all necessary information to start the project.
Looking for a microprocessor board to use in the project.
The options were ARM Cortex M, FPGA, and Arduino.
We had to do a research about how to control the wheels, if we will use motor control or driver control for the control of the wheels. We also did a research about where the wheels will be positioned to make the suitcase go forward without turning to the left or right using less space when forward.
In our research we found that using 2 steady wheels in front and two free moving wheels in the back for stability will solve our problems. The size and kind of wheels we will use was also into our consideration, because we have move a suitcase that weight may be around 50 kg.
